About Me
Colleen was born and raised in rural Illinois. Prior to moving to Texas in 2014, she gained hands on experience from reputable design-build firms in the City of Chicago and its surrounding suburbs. As Colleen gained experience in the residential sector of the landscape industry, she moved to Texas to increase her knowledge and experience on large-scale development and hardscape design.
Since 2014, she has worked on a variety of Texas public and private development projects including: city park and playground design, open space and trail design, permanent outdoor features, subdivision entry monuments and screening, HOA amenity center designs, large-scale irrigation system design, and landscape planting plans.
Inspiration
Pounding away at my designs on the computer day after day, I felt like I was missing something. Something that drove me to become a landscape architect in the first place. And that, believe it or not, was greenery.
In our busy, technology driven world I became detached from the outdoor environment that brought me so much happiness in my life. I was designing it every day, but I wasn’t experiencing it.
Spending time outdoors can provide physical and emotional benefits. Landscape architecture helps enhance outdoor experience through strategic design. This website is a resource for those wanting to create healthier and more welcoming outdoor spaces for people and nature.
